Mark S. Dion is Vice President, Underwriting Education and Training for the Global Underwriting Services Team at Âé¶¹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø. He is a subject matter expert regarding RGA¡¯s underwriting innovations, facultative risk management in the U.S. division, new underwriter training, underwriting manual creation, underwriting activities for simplified-issue and bancassurance products, and automated underwriting rules development.
Since joining RGA in 1995, Mark has managed the conversion of RGA¡¯s underwriting manual and provided the initial guidance and rules that led to the development of RGA¡¯s underwriting technology initiatives, ASAP and AURA.
Prior to joining RGA, Mark was a senior underwriting consultant for Transamerica Reinsurance, the Vice President of Risk Management for Family Guardian Life Insurance Âé¶¹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø (Citicorp), and before then an Underwriting Supervisor and Team Leader for AMOCO Life Insurance.
Mark¡¯s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in biology with a philosophy co-major is from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU) and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). He is a member and a subcommittee chair of the Society of Actuaries Life Insurance Mortality and Underwriting Survey Committee, a member of the Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU) Program Committee, a member of the Illinois-Missouri Underwriter¡¯s Association, and an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
